<p>After the publication of the above article, the authors have realized that <xref rid="f8-ol-0-0-12025" ref-type="fig">Figs. 8</xref> and <xref rid="f9-ol-0-0-12025" ref-type="fig">9</xref> in their paper were presented incorrectly; essentially, the red lines plotted to show the nodular data in these Figures should not have been drawn to meet the <italic>x</italic> axis. The corrected versions of <xref rid="f8-ol-0-0-12025" ref-type="fig">Figs. 8</xref> and <xref rid="f9-ol-0-0-12025" ref-type="fig">9</xref> are shown opposite. Note that the revisions made to these figures do not affect the overall conclusions reported in the paper. The authors apologize to the Editor of <italic>Oncology Letters</italic> and to the readership for any inconvenience caused.</p>
