Abstract

Gastrointestinal cancer continues to be a source of significant morbidity and mortality, thus emphasizing the importance of a better understanding of its physio-pathological processes in the hope that this would advance management of the disease. The present report examines the significance of oxygen-derived free radicals in the pathogenesis of gastrointestinal cancer and the impact their removal incurs on disease progress in man.
