Subsequently to the publication of this article, an interested reader alerted us to the fact that the cell line used in this study had been spelt incorrectly in the abstract. The authors have confirmed that “Hce1” (the cervical epithelial cell line used in this study) was mispelled as “Hec1” (which is an endometrial adenocarcinoma cell line that has no relevance for the present study) in the abstract. The abstract should have referred to “Hce1”, as featured elsewhere in the paper.

The authors regret that this this error was not corrected prior to the publication of the above article, and apologize to the readership for any inconvenience caused.
