Short Bio
  • My research has been focused on function and regulation of sensory ion channels and their roles in sensory physiology. In particular, I mainly study the mechanosensitive ion channels, which sense and respond to mechanical stimuli and are involved in a wide range of physiological processes, including sense of touch, hearing, urination and blood pressure regulation. My ultimate goals are to understand how mechanosensitive ion channels function at physiological context and how dysfunction of these ion channels leads to human diseases.
