Short Bio
  • Dr. Kato S. worked on colloid chemistry of clay particles at the graduate school of Kochi University (1991-1992), where he received an M.S. degree. He also researched the colloid chemistry of volcanic ash soil clays at Ehime University Graduate School (1992-1995). At Nerome Bioresource Research Institute in Okinawa (2003-2005), he was engaged in research and development on cancer-inhibitory effects of plant components. At the Graduate School of Prefectural University of Hiroshima (2005-2011), he engaged in industry-academia joint research on bio-applications of nanoparticles using fullerenes, platinum nano colloids, and liposomes as a senior research fellow and received Ph. D. degree. Then, he researched the radio-sensitizing effects of liposomes encapsulating radiosensitizers and fullerenes dissolved in squalene at the Radioisotope Center, Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka City University (2011-2013). In addition, from 2013 to the present, he has been conducting basic cell biological research on mental health as an assistant professor at the Radioisotope Experimental Facility, Mie University.
