Prof. (Dr.) Muthukumar Serva Peddha is a Chief Scientist and Professor at CSIR-CFTRI, India, with over two decades of experience in food science, functional nutrition, probiotics, nutraceuticals, and translational research. He has guided PhD and post-doctoral scholars and has an extensive research portfolio comprising 95 peer-reviewed papers, 4 patents, 5 book chapters, and 37 completed research projects. His research includes development of functional foods, nano-encapsulated bioactives, probiotic formulations, and dietary interventions for metabolic and lifestyle disorders.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology (UK) and serves as Editor/Reviewer for multiple SCI journals, including Scientific Reports and Frontiers in Nutrition. He also contributes to national regulatory bodies, including FSSAI’s Scientific Panel on Biological Hazards and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS – FAD-3 Committee).
