  • Professor Michael J. Ramdass is Professor of Vascular Surgery & Hon. Consultant General & Vascular Surgeon at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, University of the West Indies, Trinidad Campus and is the Course Director for the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Basic Surgical Skills (West Indies). He was trained at the South-East Thames London Deanery, Royal United Hospital Bath and St. George's Hospital, London. He is a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of England, Fellow of The American College of Surgeons and is GMC registered. He also has a Masters of Science in Surgery from the University of Kent, England and is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Medicine, The Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland, The Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, The Caribbean College of Surgeons and Society of Surgeons of T&T. He has published over 100 International Scientific Publications including several new discoveries such as the distal-to-snuff box (Hitchhiker’s Arteriovenous Fistula for dialysis, brachial artery reconstruction using ipsilateral vein in trauma, How to ‘’Jimmy’’ the Chest in Trauma and an original technique for mechanical dilatation for the microvascular anastomosis.
