- Rui Medeiros, Pharm.D., PhD, Professor ruimedei@ipoporto.min-saude.pt (ORCID 0000-0003-3010-8373), is the President of ECL-Association of European Cancer Leagues, Deputy Director of Research Center of IPO Porto (CI-IPOP) and Director of Research Department of LPCC-Portuguese League Against Cancer (LPCC-NRNorte). Born in Azores, he finished his PhD programme in Human Biology at FMUP-Faculty of Medicine of Porto in 2002, after his Master's in Oncobiology in 1995 and PharmD in 1992 (University of Porto). Currently, he is also a Professor of Pharmacogenomics, Precision Medicine and Molecular Epidemiology and Head of the Molecular Oncology and Viral Pathology (GOMPV) research group at CI-IPOP. His research program focuses on Pharmacogenomics and Precision Medicine, Virology, Molecular oncology and Therapeutics, with over 500 publications in these fields. One of his main interests is identifying tumour biomarkers with clinical application, which could allow a more personalized treatment of oncological patients and to a Precision Public Health strategy for Cancer Prevention
