An interested reader drew to the attention of the Editorial Board of Experimental and Medical Therapeutics that many of the data in the above paper had already been published in a previous study [Kim MY, Farnebo S, Woon CY, Schmitt T, Pham H and Chang J: “Augmentation of tendon healing with an injectable tendon hydrogel in a rat Achilles tendon model”. Plast Reconstr Surg. 133, 645e-653e, 2014].

Following an internal investigation, the Editorial Board was able to confirm that the data in question did appear previously in the Plast Reconstr Surg paper; therefore, the Editorial Board has decided that the article should be retracted. All efforts were made to contact the corresponding author of the above article. The Editor apologizes to the readership of the Journal for any inconvenience caused.
