Subsequently to the publication of the above paper, an interested reader drew to the Editor's attention that, for the confocal microscopy images shown in Fig. 2A on p. 2414, the data shown in the top row (the ‘12 h’ data) for the ‘Cisplatin + BAPTA/A’ and ‘Cisplatin + 2-APB’ experiments were strikingly similar.
The authors consulted their original data, and realized that this figure had inadvertently been assembled incorrectly. The revised version of Fig. 2, now showing the correct data panel for the ‘Cisplatin + 2-APB’ experiment, is shown on the next page. The authors regret the error that was made during the preparation of this figure, although they were able to confirm that this error did not seriously affect the conclusions reported in the paper. The authors are grateful to the editor of Oncology Letters for allowing them the opportunity to publish this Corrigendum; furthermore, they apologize to the readership for any inconvenience caused.
