The Editors thank Mr Aman Coonar for raising his concerns with us, and Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for helping us with our investigation. The Editors are satisfied that the four authors who were stated to be affiliated only with Papworth Hospital are fictitious; their names resemble those of real persons who were not involved with the preparation of the manuscript. Our attempts to contact the remaining author, Professor Yong He, have not elicited any response.
The retracted article remains on our website for continuity of the scientific record but with each page clearly marked as retracted. Searches for the article will link to this retraction notice.
