This special issue will explore the critical roles of vitamins in the structure, function, and resilience of the nervous system. Vitamins act as essential cofactors in neurotransmitter synthesis, mitochondrial function, epigenetic regulation, and neuroprotection. Emerging evidence links deficiencies or imbalances, particularly of vitamins B-complex, D, A, C, and E, to neurodevelopmental disorders, neurodegeneration, cognitive decline, and mental health conditions. The issue will highlight mechanistic insights from cellular and systems neurobiology, translational research connecting nutritional status to neurological outcomes, and clinical studies evaluating vitamin-based interventions. Topics will include vitamin-mediated modulation of neuroinflammation, oxidative stress, gut–brain axis interactions, and precision nutrition approaches in neurological disease. By integrating basic science, clinical evidence, and therapeutic perspectives, this issue aims to advance understanding of how vitamins influence brain function across the lifespan and to identify novel strategies for prevention and treatment of neurological disorders.
