This issue aims to provide a novel wide approach of oncology, covering history findings, evolutionary approach, all clinical aspects of the discipline (diagnosis, treatment, prognosis), prevention and epidemiology. Cancer is a known disease since antiquity, while recent evolutionary and systems approaches provide new insight to the natural history and/or diagnostic and therapeutic schemes.
