Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental condition characterized by clinical and biological heterogeneity that requires increasingly personalized therapeutic approaches. Despite significant advances in understanding the neurobiological mechanisms underlying autism, the transition from laboratory research to daily clinical practice remains one of the most ambitious challenges of modern medicine. This Special Issue aims to collect original contributions, reviews, and clinical studies exploring the synergistic integration of pharmacological interventions and behavioral strategies. The goal is to outline an updated framework for how translational research can translate into effective clinical protocols to improve the quality of life of children with ASD. We are particularly interested in papers addressing: Pharmacological Innovations: New molecular targets, studies on the efficacy of existing drugs for core symptoms and comorbidities (anxiety, sleep disturbances, irritability). Behavioral Interventions: New evidence-based protocols, telemedicine, and early parent-mediated interventions. Precision Medicine: Identification of biomarkers to predict treatment response (pharmacogenetics and neurophysiological monitoring). Integrated Approaches: Studies demonstrating the combined impact of biological therapies and educational/behavioral programs. Neuroinflammation and Microbiota: Research on emerging therapies targeting the gut-brain axis and immune processes. We encourage submissions of studies that highlight multidisciplinary coordination between child neuropsychiatrists, geneticists, psychologists, and therapists, with the ultimate goal of bridging the gap between scientific findings and the real needs of patients and their families.
