The advent of "Big Data" and artificial intelligence has revolutionized our understanding of digestive system pathology. This special issue focuses on the application of bioinformatics and AI in screening drug candidates and predicting patient responses. We are particularly interested in "intelligent" nanomedicines—stimuli-responsive systems (pH, enzyme, or redox-triggered) tailored for the unique microenvironment of the digestive tract. The goal is to showcase how computational predictions can be translated into experimental therapeutics, from rational drug design to the optimization of nano-formulations, ultimately improving clinical outcomes for patients with digestive and metabolic diseases.
